These male worshipers carry garlands, lotuses, and fly whisks as offerings to the Buddha. Because the two ends of the frieze are damaged, one cannot be certain of the exact architectural context in which it was used. It may have served as a lintel in a shrine or perhaps was part of a crossbeam in a gateway for a Buddhist stupa.
