Although missing three of his four arms, Vishnu retains other identifying iconographic elements. He wears a tall, conical crown, stands in the samapada posture with his legs straight, and rests his left hand against his upper thigh in the gesture known as katyavilamvita, which signifies the easing of suffering and sorrow.
